Awhile back, I found the below pic somewhere on F-T but don't remember where or who posted it. It is how I would like to mount a DTS reader and a Dolby penthouse.

Would like some help in identifying the DTS reader mounting bracket. A standard bracket?

If custom, who made it and where can I get one?

That bracket sucks. Its either one format or the other, not both.

It seems to me if both formats were desired, one would thread the DTS reader and then the Dolby reader...would need another DTS aux roller on the bottom of the DTS reader.

I could see someone using DD sound with the DTS closed-captioning system, which would mean you'd thread through both.

Phil it actually uses the standard Dts bracket and a straight metal plate mounted on top of the dd reader extends to also mount the dts reader from top down. Any decent metalsmith should be able to make it easily.

You could probably thread both if you were to thread the DTS first and then take it straight to the second roller on the SRD reader. But it is really hard to see at that angle.

Looks like Brad is right on this one. For the film leaving the lower roller on the DTS reader would rub against the block that is inbetween the rollers on its way up to the upper roller on the SRD reader.

It's an either/or sound option. It prob had to be set up this way due to the usage of the stock Cinemeccanica upper reel arm which would hinder the usual stacked mounting.

Plus you would be relying on dts' little guide roller to pull the film off of the supply reel. I've seen plenty of these come loose from running reel to reel on large reels.

Phil, I just might have the flat bracket that this appears to be. I have to check on a horn part later and I'll look at the dts brackets I have.

Ah I misunderstood how Brad meant that. I was thinking he was saying that you shouldn't use a bracket like this because you should choose one or the other and not both rather than saying that this bracket sucks because it means you can only use one or the other.
