I have had the hardest time trying to find out what this automation system is. Its unlabeled and doesn't contain any visible writing on the PCB that I can see.

I've seen a couple like that on equipment that was pulled and I do remember they were custom built for the particuluar chain they went into. Sorry I do not remember who built those...

Unlikely, unless they bought the theatre from someone else--every GCC that I have seen used Kelmar or Xetron automations. The older ones apparently had Cinemation units. Also, they wouldn't have had Simplex projectors in one of their own builds; older GCCs have (had) Centurys and newer ones have (had) Cinemecannicas.

The one in the picture looks almost home-made.

Tim, all of the older Kerasotes that I serviced had Raven wall mount units. These don't look like them, but I never saw a console mounted unit of theirs. I forget the guy's name who still services them.

Looks like it could possibly be a Hi-Tech unit. I don't think they had that many manual switches on them, but it could be custom.

It was definately not Hi tech. The UA thing somewhat rings a bell though... You might ask Ben Kehe at Motion Picture Projection Service in Tulsa if he has seen it. He worked for UA for many years.

Have never seen this automation but wonder if the theatre is around the Chicago area if the Smiley's could have made it.
