Hi Folks,
Thanks for letting me join the forum! I have a question regarding a Hollywood Film Company power rewind #000001-000 PR1-A, foot pedal type. The belt inside, a Truflex 0230, shredded and consequently the machine was not working right. I took it apart and found the belt in tatters. I found a replacement belt from the Gates Company, which makes them. It was about $6.00, HFC was going to charge me about $35.00 for the same belt, with a $100.00 minimum! Question is, is there any trick to installing the belt once I have the two flywheels apart? Does the belt need a half-twist, or just install it straight on? Is there any type of manual on this machine on-line? HFC doesn't seem to offer one. Thanks for any help you can give.

It's straight, no twists or anything fancy.

I don't recall how much dissassembly you really need to get the belt on and off, but I think not much.

I have a D-size (24"x36") blueprint of the PR-1A, but there's not much to say. It's basically a list of parts and how they fit together, which is mostly obvious from inspection.
