Does anyone know how to convert a standard SA into a direct drive?

Just the projector head itself? Pretty easy. You need to change the main drive gears (both fiber and steel) and then the pulley on the main drive. That is about it. There are TWO types of fiber gears for both direct and standard drive due to the older and current style of main drive shafts (different diameter shafts).

Thanks for the quick replies guys! Is there a good distributor I can get these parts from?

Literally ANY dealer sells Strong or Wolk parts, or LaVezzi, too, for that matter.

You will also need the metal gear (GR-????)

The metal standard drive gear is the GR-4, regardless of which main drive shaft/fiber gear.

Steve: He's goint TO a direct drive. The GR4 is standard drive.

The steel gear is a GR-182 and, depending upon the size of the drive shaft, he will need either a GR328 or a GR183. Louis
