I found a box with several of these things, and have no clue what they are. There's a place to connect two wires to what may be a solenoid coil inside.
Anyone recognize this?

They look like carbon switches for Strong platter feed plates. We replaced all of ours several years ago with micro-switches. There should be an adjustment hex screw on the side for calibration. These were a major cause of brain wraps for us. They tended to burn out quickly.

I've got a few of those laying around. I have none in use right now. I figured it would be handy to have around if a fancy phase control module took a poop.... but after some of the stuff I've been reading on the forum, I think I might just use microswitches [Smile]

Yep, that's exactly what they are; carbon-pile switch assemblies.
