Hi everyone, I'm new.
I've got a neat little puzzle for you.

I have a problem that I haven't dealt with before and I could use some advice if there is any to be had.

A part of the housing on my Century projector has become broken! :0

I've got a picture of it here.

The part that is cracked is marked in red. It's down near the bottom.

While changing the main drive gear, a piece broke right off!
(It was already cracked)
It's actually holding and running fine right now with the piece missing.
It's broken across the bolt holes.
I could fix it with some crazy glue but then I'd never be able to get the bolts in/out again.

Has this ever happened to anyone else?
I really don't want to have to replace the housing just for this one little part.

I've found similar cracks on another projector.

Hmm.. and uploading on the film-tech server would be wise because Brad will be here in a minute nagging and screaming that you have not paid attention to the rules and most probably ban you for a few days so you read them.

You might be able to use a product that Home Depot sells called "New Metal" to repair this. It comed in a tube and it is silver in color. Take a small amount and work between your fingers until per the directions. Then use a small amount to "bond" the broken peice back on. Let dry before you screw your screws back in.

Geena, your snide comments are unnecessary. These guys are helping the newbie. If he is removed from the forum and his thread deleted for failure to follow the posted site rules, then he can't get his question answered now can he? Its as simple as that. The only "noise" on this thread so far has been yours.
