I have a friend in Japan who sent me some pictures of a projector on a Japanese online auction site. It's a Sony and it's a combination of projector head and lamphouse. Does anybody have any info about this. Although shipping would upwards of $200.00, the owner only want's about $50.00 (5000 yen) so I'm thinking of buying as a project. Check out the pictures below.

Thanks Guys

I did not know Sony ever made a 35mm machine. I don't see any sound system so it must be projector only.

Maybe it's a filmstrip projector.

It looks like a still film projector (as in "slides on a film strip"), the sort of machine we had at summer camp when I was a kid to watch comics and photo novels.

Ya, it does look like a filmstrip projector - look at the upper carriage where the filmroll sits in and the knurled knob on the end of the sprocket below the gate ...

Yep, definitely a filmstrip projector. The knurled knob on the sprocket shaft is a dead giveaway.

These were popular in schools before the introduction of Beta, VHS and 1/2' B&W open reel video machines.

This would make a cool 35 to 16mm reduction printer project. [thumbsup]

I figured it had to be something else, no body has ever talked about a Sony projector head before.
