What is need to convert a DTS 6 Single to a dual projector system? The single only has one serial input for the reader.

Bernie, there is a special "Y" cable that connects the two readers to the DTS unit. The manual shows how to fabricate that cable or you can get one from Datasat (DTS's new company).

You will also have to open the top of the processor and change one jumper to set the unit to two-projector operation.

It is easy to do.

That's great. I may get my hands on a DTS 6 in the next month or two. And this thing has worked flawlessly for years. My only issues is I use two machines and the current setup is for a platter. I'll take a look at the manual.

When I did this with my 6D, I made an extra Y-cable (the official DTS one is super-expensive for some reason). I don't need the extra one, and will send it to you if you want. Let me know.

Obviously, you will need a second reader and bracket.

With the 6D and the latest firmware (1.46?) both readers are always active, and the sound changeover occurs whenever a higher timecode number is read by either reader.

When you're popping the cover to switch the changeover jumper, check out what CD-ROMs are installed. The TEAC and early Toshiba drives with the caddys were excellent drives however if they have the 4x Toshiba Tray-Load drives then brace yourself for problems. They were notorious for being unreliable. The TEAC model numbers are all CD-5xxS. They used a 12x, 16x and 32x model. If you have the Toshiba 4x drives, you might want to consider a preemptive IDE Drive upgrade if you can swing it.
