Does anyone have a general idea how much a Simplex 35 mm projector and soundhead would weigh? I'm trying to figure out shipping costs and I can't even attempt it without a weight estimate.

I'd weigh the thing myself but I can't think of a good way to do that either.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Nate,

Approximate weight for the pair less crate and pallet would be around 100 lbs, if you're talking about a 5-Star (belt drive) soundhead. Pallet and proper packing material can add 20-30 lbs.

Add 35 lbs to the above if it's an older SH-1000 gearbox soundhead.

You can use an ordinary bathroom scale which can be had for as little as $10-20 bucks at a drugstore. Just weigh each piece one at a time and add it all up.

Or weigh yourself and then subtract that amount as you weigh yourself holding the piece of equipment. (If the equipment covers up the scale.)

I just shipped two picture heads only and they weighed about 75 pounds each minus the crate.
