So I've been trying to get replacement parts for my 2 splicers and have been told that the parts are on back order and have been so for a few months. In particular I need replacement perf/dye sets and cutter assemblies. I bought these off eBay. Anyone else having this problem?

Brad, since you are now supplying splicing tapes, do you have any plans to supply splicer parts as well? I am assuming that he Neumade and Splycemar splicers are identical.

We are considering the possibility, but as of today no we are not stocking the parts.

Since you no doubt need these parts quickly here are two stocking Neumade parts sources...

GTS stocks all the Neumade Splicer parts and does repairs on them.

Just so I am not showing any favor-ability here I will also recommend another dealer whom also imports these splicers from Japan.

funny we've been waiting about 6 months for a frame counter as they are on back order from Neumade. Whats the deal? Did they stop stocking thier 35mm line because they think D Cinema is taking over the world?

All 35ss aplicers and parts are in stock at Hadden (502) 499-0050. Frame counters are in stock! (35mm is NOT dead here!) Louis

I wouldn't bother with Neumade-anything any more. Go for Splycemar. The parts are interchangeable and they still exist.

Neumade has definitely changed their focus to an industry that can support them better than the occasional film based order. That said, we have not had horrible delays from them, except on splicing tape.

We too stock most 35SS (and 16SW) parts and rework them.

Sean, why would you buy a Neumade frame counter ("Film measuring machine")? Get a [1-gang] sync block, they are much more usable!

While the sync blocks are much nicer...they are also much more expensive and for most booth needs, don't bring much extra to the table.

yeah, it wasnt my call. we run c/o's and the operators were getting tired of counting frames by hand to mark cues for prints that don't have any.

Well, pick one up off eBay. You'll pay less than for a new Neumade measuring machine and get a better product faster (if you're waiting 6 months!) and cheaper.

Last one I see (completed listings) went for $73 incl shipping last week.

I order all my parts faithfully through Louis at Hadden Theatre Supply. Never on backorder and receive the parts very quick.

measure 2 ft from the last frame on the tail leader to put the end of the 2nd cue, then measure 11 ft from that cue to the end of the 1st cue. Kinda easy, I'd say.

We always used the rewind bench as a measuring stick. 2 benches equals 11 ft. Louis

I've always just counted the turns of the crank on the hand rewind.
Over the years I've found it pretty accurate.
