I have seen references to this manual, but can't seem to Google one up.

Anyone know how I can obtain a paper or electronic copy?

We only provide our Design Manual for Architects and Engineers to THX customers. There is good information available in the THX Architectural Suggestions which is available to download from the Manuals sections on the Film Tech site.
