I've searched the forums and can't this answer, and I'm sure someone has already done this.

Do they make such a thing as an LED bayonet replacement bulb for the "down lights" (that shine over the removable brains)for a Strong AP3 platter?

No matter which brand of incandescent bulb I buy, they seem to last about a week or two then quit. I think the vibration of the platter kills the bulb.

Sorry I don't have an answer to your question about LED replacements, but I find the lifespan you are getting to be rather strange. I've found they last at least a year or so.

Ken. You're lucky. Some of mine last a long time, but most of them go out after a month or so.

I don't have an LED number for you, BUT. . .

if you need a good incandescent, you will need a 130 volt bulb with more "supports" than the cheap bulbs. The combination of heat and vibration is what causes failure. The 130 v lowers heat a bit and the extra supports reduce vibration on the filament. Another possibility is to go to 12 v which has a short, heavy filament and use resistors or transformwers. Louis

What size are the bayonet bulbs? Are they 9mm or larger. I've found some on line, but unsure what size the ones I have in there are.

The 130v bulbs suck. They are a lot dimmer. They do last a bit longer though.

I don't have number for you but we used IDEC LED lamps if I remember correctly. At the time they were very pricy. About $45 a lamp but that was a few years ago.

We have the same problems with these bulbs. They don't seem to last more than a few weeks and then they die, which would be nice if they weren't so useless in the first place.

Someone should jump on this (film-tech), I would definitely buy a supply of LED bulbs that were compatible with our platter arms

Careful: on line purchaes don't guarantee anything. I order mine directly from Osram/Sylvania. I KNOW what I am buying and, yes, they do cost more. You get what you pay for.

I also would like to see an LED that would work.. Going to be pricy, though. Louis

I went to the local Lowe's home improvement store over the weekend and bought 4 - 120v 15w bayonet base "appliance bulbs" that work perfectly. Don't know what kind of life I'll get out of them, but for now it works well.
