Just took delivery on a lightly used Fumeo X900 16mm projector - 500 hours according to the on board meter. Got the lamp to fire (first try!) and got the lower take-up to spin. No luck so far in engaging the drive train. I have no literature at all and unfortunately the "mailbox" type locks on the lamphouse and rear access doors have no key.

Would appreciate any leads or advice before I start to engage the heavy jitters. Thanks.

Is this the old vertical lamp model? If so take care of the mirror as they are no longer available.

Thanks for the advice. But my problem now is getting into the lamp housing. It is key locked and came without the key. Yes, it is the vertical lamp model.

Hi Glen

I think you might find that every Fumeo projector uses the same key. Perhaps you can borrow one from another machine.
If there are any numbers stamped into the lock face or escutcheon you could have a new key cut to this code number.

Fumeo was sold in the US by Xetron/Neumade. If that doesn't work, the actual employees involved now work for Big Sky. Louis

Those locks are toys. Any locksmith can open it for you, or any street kid here in Brooklyn. Instead of trying to match keys, it probably would be easier once you get it opened to just by new locks in any Lowes or Home Depot.
