The last two prints I received: One from Deluxe, the other from Technicolor, had the DTS discs placed beneath the film reels in the boxes that both depots seem to now prefer. Needless to say in both cases the discs were cracked and I had to request replacements. What kinda F*@ktards do they hire to check and pack these prints?

Are these new prints? On used prints, I don't think they check the disk placement or even if the disks are there... they only verify the number of reels.

If this is happening with new prints, a note to DTS is definitely in order.

Funny story on a similar idea...

I called Technicolor last night to get the check frames for a movie. It was an old movie so I knew it was a long shot but I called anyway. It would have been easier than trying to piece the reels together by trial or by logic.

Needless to say, they didn't have it.
I said, "Oh, that's all right. I was just hoping for a long shot."
The operator said, "We don't have check frames for movies that far back."
Without pausing, I said, "Yeah, that's because, back then, theaters used to hire people who knew what the heck they were doing!"

That is the first time I ever heard an operator at Technicolor bust out laughing on the phone! [Big Grin]
