Get the dvdrom upgrade kit from datasat (formerly dts). It'll include adapters for IDE-to-SCSI plus IDE drives. From then on, if any problems occur with a drive, just plop in a regular IDE drive. Make sure you've got the newest firmware installed, otherwise the IDE adapter thing won't work (and you probably would've needed it to play recent movies anyway).

Chris Slycord , my friend have this 3 model scsi drive, per model 3 piece only have ,this is brand new, this 3 model scsi drive suitable for dts 6d,

Rajendran, in any case listen to Chris, the best bet is to get the drive upgrade kit. it will solve your current issues and make it possible to easily replace drives in the future. [thumbsup]

Without opening the DTS, is there anyway to tell if the upgrade has been done?

Yea... If you have the DVD upgrade you should find "DVD" on the front of the two drives someplace...

If the drive you can confirm externally that it was a dvd drive, I think that would confirm it as AFAIK before the upgrade kit they had only supplied people with cdrom drives instead of dvd drives.

But other than that, I see no way to tell from the front that you're using an IDE drive.
