Question 2:

While working on the installation of a new processor I found that the jumpers on the C.E. analog reader are still intact. (JP3 & JP4)

It is my recollection that those jumpers should be cut to increase the gain of the preamps, thus requiring less power to the LED. If memory serves, C.E. is/was shipping new units without the jumper.

So... Should I cut them or leave them be?

Caveat. You get 6 dB more noise by cutting the gain jumpers. They are intended to be cut when you can no longer get enough light to make Dolby level.

I don't think this will be a problem. Just ran new wires to the cell.

There's a whole lot less noise than there used to be even with the jumpers cut.
