Firstly i feel quite out of depth on this forum, I have only been a projectionist coming up to 1 year now, And with my Jedi master (Head Projectionist) off sick with life issues, i have come forth to seek help from you guys/gals [Smile]

Now to the matter at hand:
We have on site an NEC NC2000C Digital projector for our 3D shows, I love this big ol' chunk of hardware, and it loves me back... However.

Im stuck sourcing information on cleaning the master image disc at the front of the machine, i know it needs to be cleaned currently, and i have a microfibre cloth dedicated to this purpose, But i also know how much money was spent installing this unit, and im extremely paranoid about messing something up.

Does anyone have this machine at thier workplace? or something very similiar.. I have tried to gently clean it once, but i can only access 1 section at a time, and the disc cannot be moved by hand(with cloth in hand) as the machine gets cranky, and i feel the motor kick in slightly and move the disc back to its original position.

I have literally broken into a cold sweat thinking about doing it again, i think maybe a few of you after you finish laughing at my paranoia and inexperiance with digital 3d, maybe able to help me out [Smile]

Ill be on shift for the next 2 hours, just a matter fo what spare time i have to be at PC.

I need advice on cleaning tricks for that master image disc!!

Yes, follow the instructions that Chris pointed you to...

...Please note, some common sense should be employed. The MI-2000 is a motorized device. It has the potential to start spinning VERY fast without your input...as such you should ALWAYS turn off (disconnect power) to such a device prior to doing any work on it.
