I recently have been told that there has been a remote control for the Dolby CP65 (I'm not talking about the Cat. 122 & 123 remote faders here). I've been searching the internet for a while now, but I was unable to get any pictures or just the Cat.-number.

I would be glad if anyone could provide pictures or just confirm its existence [Smile]

The only ones I've ever seen were made by Sound Associates here in the UK.

I wouldn't imagine they still make them, but there must be some kicking around second hand in this day and age of digital.

Failing that, it's really only a few buttons and LEDs, plus the fader pot. Not the most challenging thing to knock up yourself.

Well, there is pinout in CP65 manual and you can make one on you're own without problems, even you can be kinky as I am and make one controlled by PC hehe [Big Grin]

This Sound Associates model sounds interesting. Has anyone a photo or could take one of his?

I know it's kind of simple to build such a remote yourself, but as I'm building my home cinema at the moment, it would be really nice to have something that looks professional. [Smile]

If that's the case, you should get yourself a few variacs and some big knife switches. If you can find an old open frame rotary converter that would be even better.

You should make your booth look like Dr. Frankenstein's laboratory! [Big Grin]

Sound associates (London) sold their unit throught Dolby and was in my Dolby price list. Model starts "SA-...."

btw: One of my friends (who shall go nameless) says he intends to built a tube-type CP-50 in retirement. louis
