Whilst cleaning the projector this morning I heard a buzzing sound, so I removed the shutter housing and it was coming from the dowser. In the open position, it doesn't buzz but it does when it's closed. I called a sparky in and he said it was most likely that one of the coils was going to burn itself out. There was 24v going to the unit so all was well there.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Sally, if the douser is of the rotary solenoid type with only two leads, and if the coil is not overheating, you should not be overly concerned.

Thanks Gordon, I cleaned everything with isopropyl alcohol a couple of days ago and it hasn't buzzed since.

Check to make sure that all the screws are tight. Sometimes things that have coils with AC applied to them just buzz.
