Hello, i need to convert two CP 65 processors that have the Cat 350 SR cards and change for a single Cat 222 SR/A card, i will remove the Cat 222 A card and the two Cat 350 then install the Cat 222 SR/A in place of the standard Cat 222 A, after changes cards made the processor not leaveme to select format SR "05" from the front panel switch selector, i need to change another thing on the CP 65 processor to make this work ? maybe need to change any diode or jumper in the Cat 443 card or in the back plane of the CP 65 ?
Any help appreciatted,
Thank you,
Martin

Hi Martin,
I am sure you have your reasons to change from Cat350 to Cat222SR/A, but, I have to ask: why go from first class SR decoding to a lesser class?
Now, from what are you describing I understand you have older batch CP65s. In order for the cat222SR/A to be recognized without modification the processor must have the newer backplane (revision 3). If you look at the backplane just under the Noise reduction cards, near the proj1 input you should see the "Rev 3" clearly stated.
In processors with the older boards the cat565 adapter must be installed on the backplane (full instructions here at the warehouse
"Dolby 222 SR/A instructions")
It requires some soldering and an IC removal. Then the processor will recognize which card is seated in the 222's slot and allow you to select the proper NR type.

I have a cat 222 SR/A Card here in a working CP-65./ I will trade you that and some $$ for the two 350 cards... Let me know. Perhaps we can trade back planes and cards to make converting one of yours easier...

Martin, I'm afraid I will not be of help here. All cp65s I handled were already fitted with either the 350 or the 222SR/A cards. I haven't seen closely a cat565 because the need to use one never came up.
Christos.
