HI...i have a few units of faulty CP500 Power Supply units. I understand that dolby don't carry these parts anymore. Can it be repaired coz we have about 17 Cp500 running units and i can't buy from dolby. Please advice.

Here in America I think the power supply is still available for the CP-500.

Can anyone confirm this?

Thats very easy to do actually. Ditto for the CP-650 power supply and the Cat 701 supply. Just replace all the electrolytic capacitors on the board. Especially the large input electrolytic cap. Use only 105 degree c. rated caps!! There hasn't been one yet that I haven't been able to get going again!

It's kind of hard to get the exact rated CAPS down here. Can you assist in telling me how much would it cost. Is this all we need to change on CP500 POwer Supply to get it working again.

Normally the caps dry out with age caused by heat and time... Average cap life is ~7 to ~10 years for 105 degree c. caps. This supply is quite old now, much older then 7 top 10 years old. I have even seen 4 or 5 year old CP-650 power supplies fail this way... even to the point the caps leak a black goo substance. It is certainly worth giving it a try. If the supply is completely dead replace the large input cap first. Beyond that you can replace as needed but I reccomend replacing them all. As for will this absolutely fix the supply? I can't guarantee that as other components can and do fail on occasion. But 85% of the time it is just the caps gone bad.

There are a couple of variations on the supply, in the 650 I know of at least three. I do not know the values of the caps off the top of my head. You could probably mail order them from Great Britian or some place like Allied Radio or Newark Electronics in the States... You are looking at ~ $30 USD worth of caps new...
