As part of some research I am doing, I came across this paper on the machinations of Moving Image Preservation-Film and Video.

This is an in depth look at the issues of archiving motion pictures and make some extremely good points both for and against film/video.

The Preservation of Moving Images by Karen F. Gracy

I would be interested in seeing what views others have on this issue and to the relevance of this paper.

Thanks Jenn. It has been the first one I have found that really attacks the archiving issue in detail.
