The fan at the bottom of the unit - it's completely symmetrical, so the question - is it supposed to be mounted to draw air down the air column from the top and *out* the bottom, or push air up the air column *from* the bottom and out the top?

Okay. Up. Just wasn't sure about how the construction might push (allow) dust, hairs, and other contaminants to be blown into the aperture and potentially damage prints. Could have been constructed the other way if the structure dictated... Odd that there's no filter in the path, HEPA or otherwise...

Must be a different kind of chassis, for I've seen 4inch cage fans mounted below to push air up through the assembly.

Early P35's had small 3inch muffins mounted on top of the chassis to pull heat out.
