Hi All!

I have what I believe is a Magnarc Type J that underwent a LPA Xenon conversion. I would like to restore this lamphouse to operational status, and could use some assistance.

Conversion: LPA XELAMP 4932C-1. Single phase rectifier rated at 1600 Watts. Rectifier 4674, which is correct for this conversion.

The reflector is in excellent condition. The Xenon bulb is in the vertical position.

Does anyone have an tech data regarding this conversion? I need to go over the electrical components with a fine tooth comb before even thinking about striking it!!

Also, is there any historic value to this conversion?

I would actually restore it back to carbon-arc operation, but am missing all those components. I'll place a want-ad in the appropriate Forum for all required parts.

Some minor sheet-metal work is required, along with a re-finish.

Will, LP is still in business (although their focus is now on non-cinema applications only.)

They most likely still have full information, including schematics and manuals on that conversion.

Find them HERE

Absolutely Richard. Len has always been very helpful to me and anyone who purchases his products. His lamphouses, rectifiers and automations are all excellent.

Hi All

My thanks to George Johnson @ LPA for sending me the schemnatics for both the lamphouse and rectifier at no charge. He also recommended the 8501 rectifier for 120V 1K usage.

Cheers

Glad to hear it Will. They are great at LP.

Contact me by PM, I have one of those 8501 rectifiers in good clean condition. It is up for sale.
