Hi all, I'm hoping someone out there can give me some advice on a problem I'm having with a FP40.

I have the machine at home and am converting it for portable use at a festival later this year. I've had some great help from a forum member who has advised me on how to go about the conversion.

All worked fine last week except I couldn't get it to inch- it ran and stopped fine and the turret and aperature changers all worked fine. I gave it a good oiling as detailed in the manual . Today I tried to fire it up but the machine seemed to have gone a bit crazy displaying multiple faults! The motor wouldn't run to speed , it would run slowly then race ahead at over 24fps I even saw fumes coming from the motor at one point! Also the relays would no longer latch and the only way it would run was by keeping a finger on the button. Also I noticed a red flashing light on the inverter. Any ideas? Any advice or help will be gratefully received. Best wishes , Jon

Hi Sean, it's the Lenze inverter 8201 that's built into the head.

Hi Sam, a good oiling was figurative! I only added a few drops where the manual suggests, no where near the inverter or motor.
