Hi all,
I'm going to fit a Xebex supersol N lamp house with a 350mm diameter reflector/mirror to a Cineccanica Vic 8, Can someone tell me the working distance?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Reece.
I have a manual for the Supersol N at home. Will look it out tonight and let you know tomorrow. Can you confirm that it is the 4kw or 5kw version?
Cheers.
Phillip.

Hi Reece.
Information from the manual as follows:
Reflector type XHMPC Pyrex/Dichroic. Diameter 360mm. First focal distance 60mm. Second focal distance 810mm.
The set-up diagram gives the following dimensions:
Film plane to back of mirror = 810mm. Film plane to front of lamphouse casting = 300mm. Film plane to front of heat filter holder = 226mm. (The flat surface, not the end of the tube).
There is another dimension on the drawing, which gives a distance of 630mm from the film plane to near the front of the mirror, which might be the front edge of the mirror mounting frame. The 810mm distance would be the easiest to find in practice. Lamphouse base to optical centre height = 225mm.
There are a couple of variations which are not mentioned in the manual. I have seen them fitted with metal mirrors. Also, there are two types of heat filter holder - one of which has provision for a 70mm spreader lens between the heat filter and the projector head. I doubt that either one would have any effect on the original setting distance.
Hope this helps.
Phillip.
