I'm in the process of installing and configuring an XD-20 and DR-1 combo, but I don't have the 12v power cable to link the two. The connector looks like an F-Plug one, but slightly smaller. Can anyone tell me what this type of connector actually is, so that I can find two male ones to buy and make up a wire? Many thanks in advance.

Leo,

It might be an SMA type connector which look about the same as a standard F type but ever so slightly smaller. The SMA are rather fiddly to work with as most are crimp on types that I have seen and need the inner core to hold the connector pin firmly in the body of the connector.
I have had success soldering the pin to the lead and then inserting into the housing and dropping a wee bit of Super Glue in behind it to keep it in place.
Doubt that it would stand up to more than a couple of insertions and removals but still working fine for a couple I have done.

Many thanks Lindsay. I found a guy on Ebay near me who is selling SMA to BNC converters for two bucks a piece, so I've ordered a couple. Even if they aren't the right connector, the chances are good that we'll encounter SMA sooner or later, so they'll be useful to have in the adapter box.
