Yes, this was to show proper threading for H-8, but have any of you ever used a variable high speed strobe to slow down the motion of 70mm Estar going through a projector. There is movement in loops and oscillations set up that the eye simply CAN NOT detect. I have two different strobes I have used over the years. One is a General Radio and they can be had for way less than the price here is you search around. General Radio1531

And the other is a Cinematography Electronics Crystal Pistol. This one has a TXCO time base and is generally used to chech film camera speed, but it is variable via thumbwheel settings, and can also be used on projectors

In many circumstances, a finger is more than adequate for checking loop slapping (unless you have really big fingers of course).

While not particularly easy to use a finger for a V8, a finger works fine for laying up against the bottom side of an intermittent in a typical machine like a Century. If you don't feel it, then the loop's movement isn't playing an optical illusion on you and it isn't slapping further such to hit the intermittent.

On the V8 for H8 as shown in another thread though, it was blatantly obvious with the naked eye.
