Hi
I have a Victoria 5 with a Dolby Digital Sound head and a Dolby Analogue Sound head.
These are connected to a CP500, the digital seems to work fine however when I switch to Analogue (optical input) I only seem to get the left channel. Should I get both left & right?
I have tried the setup with another CP500 without any difference and the cable looks to be ok.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks

Well, now that you have ruled out the CP500, the only other options are a defective or seriously out of alignment photocell, or a bad wire between the photocell and the CP500.
The left analog channel is toward the picture on the soundtrack.

Thanks for the reply.
After more investigation (swapping the photocell card with another from another Vic 5) it turns out the card is faulty.
Are these available from anywhere? The Electronics on the card seem fairly simple, maybe it is possible to get it repaired?
Thanks again.

Do you know the brand of the reader? Cinememeccanica tend to use Dolby brand boards but others made readers for this projector using their own electronics. It could be the solar cell itself at fault and most often is.

I never saw a bad board, but the cell or its wiring, yes.
Simple enough to reverse the left/right wires for testing.

Thanks for the replies.
Don't think I can reverse the wires as the cell is soldered to the board.
The sound head is branded Dolby, but I am fairly sure the board is marked as Cinemeccania
I suspect I will be looking for a new board!

Hi Steve
What are you getting on your scope from the test points on the Pre-amp card
