I have a pair of Rangertone portable 35mm projectors. Does anyone have a manual for them?

Or, ideas on what would make good stands for them? The projectors weigh about 80 pounds each, and the ORC 1000 lamphouses weigh about the same each, so stand would need to support 160 pounds. The previous owner used a table, but I'd like to get them higher than a table, to get over the audience's heads better.

You'll have to hire a welder and build! Wouldn't be the first time.

Well, I want the stands to be portable. I was thinking of trying some old Simplex SP stands...which I may or may not be able to buy.

....or Rexroth or equal aluminum extrusions and fasteners. Edsal (Grainger or Ebay) 14 guage "metal lumber" and 3/8 fasteners.

Kelmar makes a base. Very flexible to use.

Yea, I used lots of both kinds of the Kelmar bases for NC-900's. It's also very inexpensive.

Which model rangertone they re branded several (the ones I have were a FP20 in a MTM dubber chassis
many people use unistrut to make bases

What Kelmar bases do you speak of? Looking at their current catalogs, I see only video projector stands...and they are not inexpensive.

Well, they are inexpensive if you compare to other brands of video bases. Some of the EPRAD bases are 2k plus per base. George Zazoli still around and he used to own MTM, I believe he is retired now though. Try searching Facebook and if you can track him down he might offer some insight on the bases he used to supply for those projectors.

As for which model Rangertones, I have, I'll need to look. or better yet take photos. They are not with me now.

The machines do include a long aluminum bed that holds both the projector and ORC 1000 lamphouse, with large screw in carry handles. They are like 1" round dowels made of aluminum with threaded ends, and project horizontally from near each corner. So if I could figure out how to attach this bed to adjustable legs, that could serve as the base.

Your Rangertone are probably the Japanese Shinkyo projectors. In the 1970's Rangertone was packaging a "theater" kit with welded steel tables with the projector and ORC lamphouses.
