Hi all, my first post! A long time ago I worked as a changeover projectionist, several sites in the Bury, Lancashire area (all now long gone) on Kalee, Westrex and Simplex machines. After leaving the industry I have continually followed changing trends and developments on this and other sites, through automation, platters and now digital. Lots of regular contributors have been followed with interest. My question is - With the now almost complete switch to digital, how many early contributors are still in the industry, and in what role?

Many of the older contributors have passed away. Several are still around, have their own private screening rooms and socialize privately outside of F.T.

My brother in law who was a long ago contributor is retired but still does occasional work at the Smithsonian. Its mostly sound work though.

Myself, a long ago carbon arc and changeover projectionist before full timing it in the telecommunications industry. Now retired almost 14 years and no more than curiosity about the industry these days.
