Hi again...
I connected J6 (DA20) to J18 (CP65) with a 25pin DB cable as described in the manuals. Something went wrong because now all the lights flash on the DA20...
Help? anyone deal with this one before??
Also still need to clarify what pin 1 is on the digital soundhead
thanks

I must have fried something. i'm not getting 15v where i should be. does anyone know these units? which card controls the output voltage to the reader?

Without pulling out the manual I wold guess the video acquisition card, but perhaps Sam or Steve know the exact answer to this. Of all the DD cards I've had fail that's the most often failed card for me.

Are you saying that the LED for the +15 and/or the -15 on the cat 611 card is no longer lit? That is the right hand most card. The one you set the offsets on. If that is the case you may have done in the power supply.

To add to Stephan's advice as a first step, any time you make a mistake or have a mishap with a video cable you are likely to fry the video board on the DA20 or the CCD board on the reader or sometimes both. There are plenty of spare parts around for DA20's and Dolby readers.
Before anything, I would lose the existing cable cable and use a known good one so you don't risk losing another video card.

If you need a factory cable just let me know. I have several on the shelf and I'd be happy to send one. I think the ones I have are 30 feet long.

Thank you for all the input
I made this cable so I don't trust it as i've never made one before. I'm not even sure what pin 1 is on the reader...i may have plugged it on backwards for all i know. The power LED is lit on the front of the DA20 but i'm not reading any voltage at the reader. If i blew a board thats ok, I just need to find which one it is and get it switched out.

Here is the pinout (from one of the various manuals):

Hi Steve...thats the map I used to create this cable...not to say that I trust it 100% but according to this, I believe I have it wired correctly. I'd love to have it inspected by you, preferably...
