Hi all,

I have recently acquired an Ernemann 15 in excellent condition, one with the "Erno-wind" long-play pedestal for 12,000ft spools. It is a 35mm-only unit, with electronic aperture plate and lens turret movement.

Since hooking it all up after the projector head was removed and disconnected from its base for the journey, I'm getting a loud buzzing sound as soon as I turn on the power to the unit. I've traced the sound to what looks like a relay on the Dolby Digital PSU card in the base's card cage (see pic). I was supplied with a spare card, so I swapped them over, only to find exactly the same with the spare.

Perhaps pertinently (or not), the first few times I powered up the unit, I didn't have this problem, and it was only after I hooked up the remote control unit that it has started and continued to happen - regardless now if the remote unit is connected or not. It also happens regardless of whether the switch on the front of the card is on or off; basically, I can't get it to stop buzzing.

I'm really hoping somebody can shed some light, as I know the unit was working fine when it was removed, and I also know it was removed very carefully. It came from a cinema in Aarhus in Denmark and I have it now in London, in case it's worth knowing.

Many thanks in advance,

Andy

This has now been fixed! It was a blown 5A fuse on one of the other cards. All working fine now [Smile]
