Hi all,

I've recently acquired an old CP65 with a Dolby A card inside. I plugged my Cat.222 A/SR card in it but I cannot select Dolby SR.

Looking on the Cat. 222-A/SR installation manual, it seems that my CP65 is an early unit and the backplane needs an extra little daughterboard (cat. 565) to have Dolby SR to work.

I was just wondering if anybody knew an alternative procedure as I doubt I can source one of those cards nowadays.

Thanks!

How about locating a pair of CAT350s and have REAL SR?

it's a home project and I have another CP55 which is capable of SR so I'm not looking to invest too much money on it! But thanks!

Before you doubt you can get a CAT 565 ask Sam Chavez if he has one. He has lots of Dolby stuff in stock. I think the optical preamp in the 65 is a little better, but I also used a CP-55 at home for a number of years and it sounded great, mine was fully modified with all the bells and whistles. Its still playing away in a friends home screening room.
