Hello

does anyone has a description of the universal link cards CAT 207 in the CP200?
What does "Special 1" and "Special 2" mean?
I have a processor here with a lot of soldering on that card.
They have made a lot of new channels.
We just need the 70mm mag channels (40, 41, 42, 43).
In the installation manual I cannot find anthing about that card.
Maybe some has a brief explanation how this card corresponds to the audiobusses?

What Do You think of the CAT 64 compared to the newer CAT64B?

Is there a big improvement in s/n ratio?

It's been a long time, but I believe the "universal link card" is the card with a LOT of component holes and a lot of jumpers soldered in, maybe diodes not jumpers.
The CP200 can be set up to do many things, and they get set up in that card. Formats go one way on the card, they should be marked. Functions go the other way, also probably marked but the CP200 manual explains the card. So if you want a non-sync with matrix decoding, you add a jumper/diode in the right spot to activate decoding.
"Special" formats can be, well, anything. I'm not sure what format numbers you use for them but that should be in the manual too.
Maybe Sam will chime in to correct everything I have wrong, and tell you the real truth.

Dave your in the wrong place. The link cards are in the processor unit and with them you can input audio on the special 1 or 2 inputs on the back of the processor unit upper left fanning strip. There was a mod using the link cards for the SR frames. It breaks the audio chain and routs LT & RT through the SR frame. There should be some schematics in the back of the manual that show what they do.

There are no schematics published in the manuals, that I'm aware of since there are no function parts on them. They are merely a means to break/re-route audio at various points. One can also route control lines via them too.

They are a simple matrix and your best documentation (as is most things on the CP200) is the Contol and Audio block diagram in the back of most CP200 manuals.

So, looking at Special 1 in slot SK12. If one was using the SRA5 for SR decoding, you can see where one would want to break the Lt/Rt lines (Lt comes in on P and goes out on 13, Rt comes in on M goes out on 11). If you look in the SRA5 manual, they have you cut links 61 and 92 to do that. They then have you add 2 links. The one at 29 that connects "S" to "15" so you have a path back in form the SRA5 for Lt and then likewise there is a jumper installed at 251 to 255 that allows Rt to come back (post SR).

Without the CP200 block diagram, you will find the CP200 confusing, with it, it all becomes clear on how the signal flows.
