The START buttons on my two Component Engineering TA-10's are faulty. One works most of the time and the other almost not at all. The detents click OK. I see that the pushbutton switches are soldered to a circuitboard, standing off the board a bit to project properly in the black panel. Any way to make these switches happier, or are replacements available?

What you are describing sounds like these switches have some corrosion or dust on the actual electrical contacts, which are inside the switch mechanism itself. You might try -- depending on what kind of access you can get -- spraying a bit of contact cleaner into the interior the switch itself. Assuming a bit will get inside, such treatment should both clean and lubricate the internal workings a bit and may thus give you more reliable response when you push the switch.

Component engineering is still in Biz. You might give them a shout and see if they have the parts you need.
