JOB TITLE Projectionist/Event Technician

DEPARTMENT Event and Media Production

REPORTS TO Associate Director of Event and Media Production

CLASSIFICATION Part-time, non-exempt/ possible full-time depending on experience

HOURS 28 hours per week; must be available for flexible scheduling including days, evenings, weekends, and over-time as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES Perform projectionist and event technician duties for screenings and other events. Assist in technical installation for Film/Video and other events including hanging and focusing lights and setting up sound equipment, with a concentration in audio-visual set-up and operation. Maintain projection equipment. Work directly with film and video makers to determine the best screening conditions possible. Assist with troubleshooting of AV equipment for galleries and video and audio dubbing.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of two years experience in motion picture and video projection: 35mm with reel changes, 16mm, and CRT, LCD, and Data video projection. Experience in technical theater and audio installation and operation preferred. Able to install and operate audio-visual systems including video and slide projection, 16mm film projection, video duplication, and video-taping. Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted and be comfortable working at heights required by hydraulic lifts and extension ladders. Self-motivated and able to trouble-shoot projection and audio equipment malfunctions. Excellent communication skills in order to work well with artists and as a team member with a stage crew. Diplomacy and organizational skills are a must!

SALARY: $16.50 per hour; excellent benefits available
