The Angelika Dallas is seeking a Cinema Managing Director!
The Angelika Dallas is looking for a well-qualified, unique individual who loves independent film and the Angelika experience. The Managing Director is responsible for all aspects of an efficient and profitable cinema operation, including the development of a team dedicated to making us the best cinema experience in Dallas.
Qualified candidates should possess an entrepreneurial spirit, knowledge and love of film, and a sincere desire to make a difference. Qualified candidates should have at least two years experience in the retail industry (cinema, hotel, restaurant or retail industry). College is preferred. Due to the nature of our business, weekend and holiday work is required.
Specific responsibilities include:
Overseeing all facets of cinema operations
Cinema staff supervision
Developing and maintaining a team oriented environment
Ensuring that profit and productivity goals are met through
developing business plans, managing payroll hours, sales and P&L
Ensuring that concession items are merchandised and presented in a way to maximize sales
Hiring, training and developing staff
Concession, merchandise and inventory management
Communication between the cinema and the home office
Ensuring that all cinema administrative functions are carried out in a timely manner
Specific skills we are looking for include:
Strong supervisory skills
Ability to lead, motivate and develop staff
Commitment to superior customer service
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
Strong commitment to ensuring that profit and productivity standards are met
Flexibility and problem solving ability
Enthusiasm and strong interpersonal skills
Superior organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to handle pressure and work long hours when necessary
Computer skills, including familiarity with spreadsheets and word processing
