From the starwars.com website...On November 12, Lucasfilm Ltd. and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will begin the North American release of Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones on DVD and VHS home video.
The Episode II DVD allows fans the chance to relive the adventure in the way Writer/Director George Lucas meant it to be seen, with spectacular digital clarity.
"The way Lucas meant it to be seen." What, on a 27" TV screen? If that's the case, why the hell did he bother with theatres?

Showbiz news on the BBC is saying Attack of the Clones will be realeased in the UK on November 11, DVD version will feature eight scenes which were cut from the cinema release.

I bet Obwon still looks out of focus.
Of course remember in order to see the movie on your TV there has to be an analog conversion.

Kodak showed a HDTV transfer of an 50+ year-old B&W Fred Astaire movie at an SMPTE Conference a few years ago. The transfer was done on a Spirit telecine and shown from D-5 tape. IMHO, the image quality was superior to ANY of the live HD camera video displays on the exhibit floor. Film had better quality than HD Video half a century ago!------------------

I must admit that I am looking forward to the DVD in November and have no doubt that the image that was masterd from the original digital source will be spectacular. However, did you all notice that all of the press hype makes it sound that George Lucas always had the home video market in mind when he decided to shoot both EP2 and EP3 in digital? In my honest opinion, EP2 looked like 
when I saw it at the Ward 16 and if the motion picture industry could all stand up to Lucas and tell him to shove it and refuse to play his "all digital or nothing" game, we might very well see "EP3" on DVD instead of a theatre.. I think that will be so cool!

Actually EP2, and EP3 should only be released on vhs in 6 hour mode done on an 8 hour tape so there is extra tape left over to hang your self for watching it at all and when you wonder who could dreate such a pile of . Phew!

Oh, Really!! I ain't gonna buy the damn thing. I have more important things to waste my money on.
I would rather buy an extra copy of Dazed and Confused or Detroit Rock City. I found those two movies more entertaining than any of Lucas's stuff.
Jeeze, I must be turning into a punk to say something like that.
