This is the perfect place to encourage all of you that like outstanding performances and good writing to check out a very small film called DIAMOND MEN, now available on DVD.

Ebert and Roeper praised this film when it played its very, VERY short theatrical run, and then again when the DVD was released. It features an intelligent script and an absolutely WONDERFUL performance by Robert Forster. The film also features Donnie Wahlberg and a very quiet and incredibly simple, sexy performance by Bess Armstrong, who proves that sex is so much more than bare bodies.

This is a film for us older guys around here (50+). It's about a diamond salesman at the end of his career and his training tour for his replacement. Lots of twists and turns here from a beautifully written script.

This is definitely a film worth seeking out. No booms, bangs, flying crafts or creatures of any kind...just a thoughtful study of some very interesting characters in some very interesting situations.
