We in the west need to do a better job of corrupting other countries and what better way than good old porn. But some countries take a rather harsh view of such things (think imprisonment, stoning, amputation).

So encryption is a solution. But with a computer-based solution you never quite know what the OS is going to leave in someplace or another on the HD. You don't want that if the mullahs come a knockin'.

So how about this: DVD-ROMS, each individually encrypted for the customer. Decryption built into the player. Must enter the key via remote control each time it's played. If the authorities come knocking you turn it off and the disk is unreadable as the key is not saved.

Steve - "we in the west"? What do you mean? Before you think about corrupting exotic places, you should campaign for corrupting the good old US a little more. More drinking, smoking, and nudity for people wherever whenever they like. At this time, you are only clicks away from Singapore.

Steve, if ...the authorities come knocking you turn it off and the disk is unreadable as the key is not saved, and you don't enter the key for them when they tell you to, you're stoned, imprisoned or loose some of your favorite body parts anyway.

We're probably corrupted enough. But hypocrisy and cartoon, fake morality is all an American pasttime.

Here's a nice statistic I just heard on Lou Dobb's report on CNN this evening. 1 out of every 3 Americans will at sometime in their life contract a sexually transmitted disease. The United States has the highest rates of STD transmission of any country in the "industrialized world." Apparently there are lots and lots of Americans taking part in all kinds of sleazy sexual activity. All of them except me. I guess that's why I can still donate blood. I guess I must be such a prude, or odd ball or something. Ladies just don't dig me. Boo hoo.
