Hi

So what is the story with anamorphic DVD. It seems that DVD's come two ways. One fills the screen and the other give bars across the screen to give a wide screen. Can you buy a DVD that plays squeezed at 4:3 and will somewhat correct itself if the wide screen setting on the set is selected?

I notice on wide screen sets, if you set wide screen with a normal 4:3 presentation everyone gains about 40 lbs.

I realize setting wide screen on a squeezed DVD will result in everyone looking 20 lbs thinner but I think it's better then the other way around.

I've gotten my parents to correctly display video content on their 16:9 HD TV and appreciate propper proportions. But recently we had some relatives over who constantly complained that "the screen wasn't filled up" when watching 4:3 content. "Make it bigger!" [Mad]
