I was looking at the technical specs for Baadasss and was surprised to see it was filmed using SONY HDW-F900 cameras. Probably the most convincing job someone has done in hidef to my eyes. I was actually fooled. I thought it was film when i saw it on Showtime, especially the opening motorcycle in the desert scene.

I was lucky enough to see this on 35mm in the Magno screening room in NYC. On film, I was able to tell that it was indeed shot digitally, albeit far less so than a movie like Spy Kids or Star Wars. I will say they did a phenomenal job on the DVD- it's one of the best compression jobs I've seen in a while, and really lets the colors pop despite being from a digital source.

Great movie, too...
