The Broncos/Steelers game looked awesome in HDTV and sounded fantastic in Dolby Digital EX as presented on CBS, Americas most watched network (despite their crappy shows)!

The Seahawks/Whoever game looks like ASS! The white balance seems completely off, they only seem to have 1 or 2 HDTV cameras and the rest are DEFINITELY upscaled SD cameras. The HDTV cameras that they do have look kind of soft. The sound isn't as good as the Broncos game was. There are WAY TOO MANY graphics all over the screen, the most annoying of which is the ginormous arrow they place on the field that stays there during the play.

FOX has absolutely no right to broadcast television.

The only advantage FOX has over CBS is they don't drop back and forth from Dolby Digital EX to Dolby Digital 2.0 to and from their commercials, which creates a short moment of silence during the transition on CBS. I usually mute commercials anyway since I don't give a rat's ass about them.

PS - The Broncos came to play! Unfortunately it wasn't to play football.

On the sound issue, for a long time the FOX station here had a major imbalance in the levels between the network-sourced Dolby Digital audio, and locally-sourced non-DD audio that comes on during commercials. The volume on the local material was so low it was almost inaudible when I had the volume on my receiver set to a comfortable level for DD. I noticed lately now they've installed some kind of automatic level compensator, but it lags. So when a local commercial comes on, the volume is low at first, then it gradually rises to where it should be. This happens each and every time, so I doubt someone at the station is riding the fader (so to speak), though I guess maybe they could be doing that. How retarded is that? Does every station have this problem?

I've noticed that volume imbalance with other networks too but not as bad as FOX.
