This series is being released on DVD. News guy Charles Kuralt would go to small towns and unusual places around the U.S.A. and interview interesting people. The stranger, the better, it would seem.

In Montana, he visited the Beartooth Highway, which traverses the Beartooth mountain range in southwestern Montana, and called it the most scenic drive in America -- a phrase which they still use in tourism promotions today. He also noted that "The interstate highway system allows you to drive from coast to coast without seeing anything" -- although he did do a segment on I-80.

Anyway, it's great fun to watch although the video quality is awful in spots. There are two four-DVD sets out now, with more to come.
