My Denon receiver I had for many years is just about ready to die and because of a tight budget, I will have to hold of replacing it with a better unit. In the mean time, I just purchased a Vizeo sound bar costing about a hundred dollars at Sam's Club as a temporary replacement. I was originally planning to get a inexpensive receiver but bought the soundbar because it sounded great in the store. I set it up over the weekend and watched a couple of movies with it and it turned out to be a very good replacement for the present time. The unit is just about three feet wide and very narrow and I am just amazed how it can give me an illusion of surround sound when I played the opening scenes from MASTER & COMMANDER from a Blu Ray disc. When I was at another Sams Club store yesterday, I saw another Vizeo sound bar costig about $250.00 that includes a sub woofer and wish I got that instead but I am happy with what I have.

I never thought about getting my Denon receiver repaired, Louis because I will eventually purchase a up to date unit that will allow me to play back HD Master Audio ans Dolby True HD soundtracks that BLu Ray offers. It would also not be pratical to getting the unit repaired because I most likely cannot get the work done locally because the unit is very old and I doubt it can be serviced. If it can be serviced, I would have to send it to the mainland but the cost of shipping
would be very expensive because of the weight of the unit and I have nothing to ship it because I no longer have the original shipping container it came in when I bought the unit

I had my new Vizio sound bar for over a week and I am very happy with it. Yes, it does not give me the sound quality I used to get from my Denon in it's prime years, but it is more than adequate as a temporary unit

The Denon receiver I have is the AVR 3802, Aaron. When I bought it, it was one of Denon's top of the line receivers and I got more than my moneys worth out of it all these years and I think the time has come to retire the unit.

Vizio TVs are crap. I had one and the frame rate on filmed material went all out of whack after the last firmware update. They refused to admit there was a problem, luckily I had the extended warranty and got some money to buy a Sharp.

My Denon still works but all I am getting out of it is sound from the front centre, left front and rear. My subwoofer is not responding either. I have not been able to use my Vizio soundbar for several weeks now because I had misplaced the remote. It is very tiny and I have no idea where it is. until I find it, I have gone back to using the Denon.

Not sure what Vizio tv's have to do with this subject but I own two of them and have had no issues with them at all. One is almost three years old and the other is just a year. Look good and work just fine.

Claude, you really can't do anything with the soundbar without the remote? That doesn't seem very practical at all.
