Hi Everyone!

I really need help in deciding on what projectors to buy. I would need atleast 3 of them for an extended widescreen. This will be installed in a club. I have a maximum of 7 foot depth to work with. I need at least 28 feet wide for the screen.

I am thinking about this projector Optoma GT1080 http://www.consumertop.com/best-short-throw-projector/ A review of it from the website said something about a rainbow effect with video. And video wasn't as clear as it could be. Anyone used these or should I be worried. I am working with a budget. Up to $800 that would be my limit.

I may also have the option to only run 2 projectors but have about 12 feet of depth to work with. I still need 28 feet wide. Should I look for brighter and a higher end 2 projector setup? I do have more mounting issues with the 2 setup.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

James, this is the Digital Cinema forum. You are asking about consumer video equipment.

Moving to Afterlife Forum.

NEC just released a "Prosumer" laser projector with a claimed 20K hour life on the lasers and 8000 Lumens of light. Not sure what the range of lenses they have for it, but from a cost/operational standpoint in a club where you don't want to be changing out $300 to $400 lamps every few weeks it sure makes sense.
