Does anyone have these systems in there theaters,auditoriums & studios if so can you tell me your impression.Skywalker sound have used TAD in there studios. I recently purchased the three way array and two 18 inch subwoofers.These came out of a theater it is hard to find any information on there real world performance. TSC3415 3 way with 4 -15 inch cones and TS1118 SW sub

This system was used in very high end places like Stag Theatre at Skywalker and Pixar screening rooms. They take some very esoteric tuning to get maximum results. At this point they have been mostly removed from service in favor of Meyer Sound Labs goods.

The TAD drivers are very nice but pretty low power handling capability and quite easy to blow up.

Thanks Sam as your correct they are mostly used in upscale theaters as Jerry Steckling was a part of the TAD developers of the Cinema series.In Asia TAD is very revered and there are many studios and theaters that have this system. I am using the 4001 drivers for mid-high horns with there heavy alinco magnets along with with Stecklings 2 channel and 6 channel amps.The amps are 400w@8ohms so I will not be under powered . Two Tsc-3415 arrays with 2 Tsc1118SS subs in a 30 x 50 room. I will probably use the JBL Intanato 24 as a Dsp. Sam I will say this the beryllium diamphragms are fragile but if not abused will last a long time. The Radeon diaphragms have twice the power handling capacity they are a substitute.

I never heard about the JBL Intanato 24 before - from the specs, it looks as if it is dedicated to certain JBL monitor speakers. It seems you would need additional external crossovers?

As I recall there were DSP crossovers. Don't recall the brand. Also a big need for time alignment.

THX was originally going to market these speakers under their brand name but this did not end up happening.

Wait, what? Skywalker Sound doesn't use those very fine Klipsch systems favored by Regal? Klipsch is reference quality. If you like the sound of cabinet resonance.
