I'm considering looking for a part-time position as a booth assistant/projectionist trainee in an IMAX theater and I'm wondering what (specifically) that position would entail. Would it be basically doing things like makeup/breakdown on the MUT, moving prints, checking such things as CCU/chiller status and noting it on the booth log, etc.? (And also covering for the CP or duty projectionist for brief periods when he/she has to go to the bathroom or other momentary interruptions.)

(Eventually moving up to being a 'real' projectionist reporting to the CP?)

I do have A+ certification (in PC/Windows maintenance), Cisco CCNA certification (Cisco Certified Network Associate), and I have worked with Linux and FreeBSD/OpenBSD UNIX extensively.
I also did a lot of PC tech work at my high school, so I know how to troubleshoot problems systematically.

What is the general pay scale for IMAX booth positions?

Where have you had better experiences at? (Commercial vs. institutional)

How does one find an IMAX booth job?

The most important item is forget everything you know about a projector and look at the rolling loop with a fresh set of eyes
