What would you think of a dedicated forum for large-format (ie. 8/70 and 15/70) and special-venue fans/projectionists that would be separate from the other forums?
The forum would be for discussing the unique technical issues of LF/special venue film presentation vs. 16mm/35mm film presentation.
Any comments (I know there's more than a few LFers on here.)

Um, I believe that's already been done.

Yeah, but they are 15/70 snobs. Just look at the name of the forum. You might as well call the IMAX only club. What about the 8/70 and 10/70 people?

I participate in the http://www.1570.com forum, and they recognize the important role of ALL 70mm formats. If members started discussing 8-perf 70mm or 10-perf 70mm, they would be welcome. As they say, "Different Horses for Different Courses". It is a very useful public large-format forum, as well as the private large format forums.

Oh my, what horrible software they are using. How are you supposed to find the current discussions? I am seeing these "last post" dates in this order:
04-20-01
03-24-99
12-12-00
12-04-98
07-02-01
etc.
Anyway, it's no big deal to open up a new forum, if there is a strong need or desire for it. 1570.com has been around for awhile and I have always assumed it does the job for the large format guys. If there is a reasonable consensus to open up a large forum here, I'll make Adam and Gordon moderate it.
